Early reports are in, and everything in them indicates that our 2017 Palm Springs Hamfest was a rousing success. The final meeting of the Hamfest Committee was held Monday, February 13, 2017. Every sub-committee was provided the opportunity to deliver a final report. Each “profit center” delivered a written balance sheet to the Committee’s Secretary who, in turn, will present them to our Club treasurer. All reports show that our Hamfest did well, financially, socially and attendance wise too. The Committee’s goal was to achieve 1000 attendees, and by every indication, including our guests and volunteers, that goal was reached. A detailed report to the general membership will be given at our next Club meeting. Thank you letters are being sent to: Mayor Moon, our speakers and our vendors as well as the Palm Springs Air Museum.
As 2017 Hamfest Chairman, it is with great pride that I tell you that it has been a genuine pleasure working side by side with so many dedicated and wonderful people, all of whom gave their time willingly to make this event a success. THANK YOU!!!
I have formally relinquished my position as Chairman of the 2017 Palm Springs Hamfest. Whether we continue the tradition of having an annual Hamfest, or allow this event to be a memory that will fade into oblivion is up to you.
