We have been busy this year finalizing the new Club corporate structure. This involved migrating from the existing 501 c7 Social Club organization to a 501c3 non-profit organization. This change will better align the tax status to our club’s purpose and goals. (More details can be found here). This change is for filing purposes only and will not change the function or purpose of the Club.
This change will require a formal migration of the club’s assets, membership and board structure to the new organization.
At the November meeting, we will be asking you, the members to approve this transition by making a motion:
Motion
“A motion to authorize the transfer of all assets and property, tangible and intangible, from “Desert Radio Amateur Transmitting Society of Palm Springs”, a 501 c 7 organization under the Internal Revenue Code, to “The Desert Radio Amateur Transmitting Society of Palm Springs”, a 501 c 3 organization under the Internal Revenue Code, effective January 1, 2018″.
