First off, you will notice some changes on how you receive your newsletter. You will see why, further down. So we are doing our best to come up with a new format for the newsletter and we want your input. Please contact the editor, Cameron, with any input, good or bad, that you may have. For those of you that just have not gotten the word..sheesh. The Desert RATS Palm Springs Hamfest is this Saturday, March 14th. Pass the word on any nets you belong to and come on by the Palm Springs Pavilion Saturday from 9AM to 4:30PM . There is VE testing first thing in the morning, just drop by. Gordon West and 4 others will be speaking through out the day and there will be a great group of vendors attending, including HRO with some great deals, RF Parts, Nifty Accessories, some antenna folk, RFI experts, Michael Brennan, KA6PGN, will have military hand held radios from Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm and QSL cards to match for swapping, plus army telephones for the kids (big or little) to talk on,
and much more.
Field Day is not too far behind Hamfest. It’s held the last full weekend in June, and it is always fun. This year we are planning to use the EOC in Palm Springs. This is a great time for you Tech operators to get some HF experience. More to come in following newsletters.
