Social Media Campaigns

  1.  There was a post done on Nov 3 titled “What is Ham RAdio and Why Should I Care”. It was posted on the clubs Facebook, Twitter and Google+ accounts. How many of you saw it on Social Media? If not, make sure you follow our Social Media Accounts. There are items posted on the Social Media accounts between the monthly newsletters. These items come to our attention and need to be send out quickly. The Nov 3 post is below.
  2. We are in the process of promoting the upcoming Technician Class. As part of this promotion we are doing a lot things. One of these things is we are creating short 1 minute videos about Ham Radio.  These are being posted to our Facebook, Twitter and Google+ accounts. The first two will be posted by the time you read this newsletter.  Links will be on our website on the Miscellaneous Information Page and on our Facebook, Google+ and Twitter.

What can you Do

You, as members of the club, can help spread the word. Follow our social media accounts then reshare what is posted.  Most of the articles in the monthly newsletter are published to Facebook each month. We do not publish things that are specific to the club membership such as membership dues, voting issues, etc to the social media accounts.

All our activities and pictures will be posted to Facebook. If we wish to attract more members we need to show our club as the fun group we are. This is especially true for the younger generations (50 and younger). According to recent surveys, over 80% of decisions to buy something or join a group is influenced by Social Media. The age group influenced the most by social media is 15-30. This is one of the reasons why we have to use Social Media.

If you have an idea about a short video or article, please let us know. We are always looking for ideas on what to write about. The videos that create are mainly just text or images that convey a message.

Knowing what to Share

Most of us question what we should share on social media. The younger generations share everything. We more seasoned adults like our privacy. So what should we share? We should share any activity that is public in nature that was fun for us to participate in. No need to share personal feelings, private thoughts or vent on Social Media.  Just share interesting things that will help educate others.
