June has started out to be a to be a much better month than the previous few. We now have a new antenna for the repeater (Picture is the new antenna). Barring any unknowns when we get up the tower to install it, you should be hearing it on the air by the time you read this. And, here is the best part, it cost no money out of the clubs coffers. My deep thank you to all of you that stepped up and donated to the antenna fund. It is greatly appreciated.
The board is very excited to announce that we have found a great new venue for Palm Springs Hamfest 2017. The RATS will hold Hamfest at the Palm Springs Air Museum. How great is that? The museum is giving us a huge discount on the space rental and making us feel very welcome. They will be moving all of the planes out of the Pond Hanger and off of the tarmac in front of the hanger. There will be plenty of space for tailgaters, RVer and general parking. The entrance fee will include entrance to the museum as well. The date has been moved to February 4th. This is the weekend after Quartzfest, which was our original schedule, so we are looking forward to all of those RVers to stop by. We are looking into Bi-plane rides, rides in a C47/DC3 and a professional BBQ company for lunch. Again, we will need all of your help to pull this off. This will really be a great event and the biggest hamfest in Southern California.
See you on the bands
