I’m proud to announce that, through the efforts of Bill Ruttan and his “Feasibility Committee”, we have been able to secure the use of the Palm Springs Air Museum for our 2017 Hamfest. Bill, Glenn and I asked the appropriate questions of the Air Museum’s Marketing Manager, and received a “YES” to them all. Admission to the Air Museum included? YES Do you have Tables we can use? YES Meeting rooms? YES Food vendors with their truck or tent allowed on the premises? YES Antennas for our station allowed? YES May we have the date we want (Feb. 4, 2017?) YES Use of the tarmac? YES Separate parking lot for RV’s and attendees? YES A dozen or more questions all produced the same answer, namely YES. So, in a nutshell, we have a great venue for our Hamfest that will add a big bonus towards our effort to make this annual event a success. Using the Palm Springs Air Museum gives us the potential to sponsor one of the biggest ham radio events in Southern California! Let’s do it!
The rest is up to you. We need everyone’s help. There are vacancies on at least a dozen committees that need to be filled. YOU can help support your club and its 2017 Hamfest by working on one (or more) of them. If we all pitch in and help, the amount of work a single individual will need to do will be minimal.
If you want to have more fun at Hamfest than just being a spectator, let me know what your area of expertise is (graphic arts, security, ham radio operations, food, logistics, planning, decorating……whatever…..let me know! Together, let’s make this event “The Biggest Little Hamfest in the West!”
