Roses are red. Cheaper by the dozen. Winter’s here, and my feet are frozen.
Ready to warm up? Yeah, some of you Snow Birds are saying “No way”. We have some good events coming up in the next month or two. This month’s meeting will be on February 19th at 7 PM at our new location at the Elks Lodge in Cathedral City. See desertrats.us if you need a map.
The guest speaker will be on our indigenous Desert Big Horn Sheep. Well, not a lot to do with Ham Radio, but they do use radios to track them. More on that later in the newsletter.
The March meeting will have as a speaker our very own Steve KA6UGS talking about 100 foot antennas. No not an antenna up a 100-foot tower. A 100-foot-long antenna up a thousand foot tower. Big commercial antenna installations. It’s very interesting stuff.
At the end of March is the big Desert RATS BBQ at Lake Cahuilla in La Quinta. You don’t want to miss that. More on it elsewhere in the newsletter.
And dues. Yep, it’s that time of year again. Just like taxes, you RATS dues are due. How’s this for an incentive? In order to attend the big BBQ and feed on great food and spend the day in the park with all of your Desert RATS friends, you MUST be a member. So go the membership page on the website and either print out the form and mail it in, bring it and your check to the February RATS meeting or send it in electronically via Pay Pal. How easy is that?
See ya on the air waves. 73
