Desert RAT Receives Major Award
A founding member and past president of the Desert RATS Amateur Radio Club Dr. Henry L. Richter has received the prestigious Radio Club of America’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award was established in 2015 and the RCA’s Board of Directors recognizes the very significant achievement and a major body of work accomplished over a lifetime that has advanced the art and science of wireless technology.
About two years ago, Dr. Richter returned to the desert to give a presentation to the club on his work at JPL and communications with the early Explorer Satellites. Dr. Richter has also published a book on the subject; My Time at JPL and the Early Explorer Satellites. The book is available online.
Congratulation Dr. Richter from all of the Desert RATS Amateur Radio Club!
