AREDN Now In Palm Springs

On Saturday, February 1st, Dale WA6MZW, Earl KJ6DQR and Guy KS6F went up to the roof of the Palm Springs Hyatt Hotel to install a 5GHz node and camera. The node is tried into Edom Hill. The camera is able to see up and down Palm Canyon and east along Amado Road.

Earl and Guy spent several hours repairing the 300-foot electrical conduit and reconnecting the wiring. Dale was working on the node and camera set-up. This was installed in time for the February 8th Tour de Palm Spring Bicycle Race. The R.A.C.E.S. group used the camera to monitor the race from their Command Center at the First Baptist Church on El Cielo.
