Desert RATS BBQ
If you’ve been listening to the Monday night nets or attended the last few RATS meetings, you’ve heard about the upcoming RATS BBQ. The BBQ food is being provided by Grills Gone Wild (they did the BBQ at the last RATS Hamfest. Here are the details:
Date: Sunday, March 23rd
Time: About noon to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Lake Cahuilla Regional Park in La Quinta
The food and soft drinks are on the club. All it will cost you is your admittance to Lake Cahuilla Regional Park in La Quinta. A map will be out in the next newsletter. There will be tables, chairs and umbrellas provided, although if you’d like to bring your own, that’d be fine.
We have invited a few guests to attend, including Gordon West. Each attendee will receive one free raffle ticket, more will be available.
Prizes will include:
- A Yaesu HF transceiver,
- 2 VHF/UHF mobile transceivers
- At least 2 HT’s and
- A bunch of other stuff.
There will be some displays of equipment, modes of operation and even a practice T Hunt. We also plan to set up the club’s HF station and get on the air.
This is going to be a BBQ for all RATS members and their immediate family. You MUST be a paid-up RATS memberto attend and to bring family members.
You will receive an eVite (an emailed invitation ) in the next week or so. Please RSVP to the eVite with how many will be attending.
There is also RV camping at the park as well as fishing in the lake. Come and spend the weekend. Several of us are. Myself included.
So come out to Lake Cahuilla Regional Park on March 23rd, hang out with your friends and enjoy some great BBQ!
