The up coming event for June is ARRL Field Day. It is June 24 and 25th. It starts at 1100 AM local time and runs for 24 hours.
This year, as in the last several years, we will be operating out of the Palm Springs EOC. Palm Springs City Hall is at 3200 E Tahquitz Canyon Way. The corner of Tahquitz and El Cielo. The entrance is around the back, near the dog park. Working a late shift? The door will be locked. You must call on 146.520. Someone will let you in. There will be drinks and food provided. A donations is requested. Up to you on amount.
Set-up is Friday morning at 7AM supervised by Earl – KJ6DQR. The EOC has one complete station and we will be adding 2 more transceivers and antennas. So that means we will be operating 3 stations. Most likely, 1 SSB and 2 digital stations. That can easily change around as conditions dictate. Most of the digital will be PSK-31. Get on the air with an experienced Elmer on PSK. Same with you Techs. Get your feet wet with HF! There will be a control OP there with you to assist you making those HF contacts. One year a Tech worked Guam. So you never can tell. Bring the grandkids, friends and neighbors. We can put them on the air and introduce them to Ham Radio.
Also to add to the fun of the event, we will be operating in conjunction with Palm Springs CERT. They will have an active drill with a shelter set up, operational trailer, the whole enchilada.

July and August Meetings
The club usually goes dark during the summer months. However, we have hit on a way to still get together and have a social event. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at Manhattan in The Desert for dinner. It’s located at 2665 East Palm Canyon, Palm Springs. Just a little east of Farrell. We meet at 6PM in the back room.
