The RATS BBQ & Picnic

The Desert RATS will be holding our Picnic and Bar-B-Q on Sunday March 23rd. Here are the details:

Date: Saturday, March 23rd

Time: About noon to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Lake Cahuilla Regional Park in La Quinta

You should have received an Evite recently. Please let us know if you will be joining us!

The food and soft drinks are on the club. All it will cost you is your admittance to Lake Cahuilla Regional Park in La Quinta. A map will be out in the next newsletter. There will be tables, and umbrellas provided. Bring your own chairs and blankets.

Grills Gone Wild will be providing gourmet bar-b-q fare at no cost to the members.

We have invited a few guests to attend, including Gordon West. Each attendee will receive one free raffle ticket, more will be available.

Prizes will include:

• A Yaesu HF transceiver,
• 2 VHF/UHF mobile transceivers
• At least 2 HT’s
• A bunch of other stuff.

There will be many other attractions:

• The RATS radio station will be set up and operating
• We will have an AREDN Mesh Link operating
• A practice T-hunt
• Bring your portable Go-Kit and show others how it’s done!

This is going to be a BBQ for all RATS members and their immediate family. You MUST be a paid-up RATS member to attend and to bring family members.

Expo at the Elks

 

Palm Springs Elks will be hosting an Expo on Sunday, March 31^st. The RATS will have a table there to accommodate those interested in learning about Amateur Radio. Swing by and say hi!

 

Interested in upgrading your License?

At the next meeting Mark KD6SEC will have a signup sheet for interested in attending training sessions for the General Class exam.  Please stop by and put your name on the list.

 

Once we have information on how many would like to attend, a plan and location will be announced.
