Talk about a big deal! Our 2017 palm Springs Hamfest is shaping up to be the biggest and best ham radio related event the Coachella Valley has ever seen! This month, our club meeting takes place a day before our monthly Hamfest Committee meeting. I’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend the next Hamfest Committee meeting which takes place on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the home of Susie and Gary Boskovich. All Hamfest Committee meetings are open to everyone. If you’re not on a Hamfest committee, here’s your chance to join one. All Hamfest Committee volunteers receive free admission to the 2017 Palm Springs Hamfest.
Our list of guest speakers is, in a single word: awesome! If you’re a winter resident and haven’t as yet had the opportunity to join a committee, our club meeting on the 15th of this month is a great place and time to sign up. Alternately, you may request to join a committee by email (see below.)
We need volunteers to contact local business persons in all our valley communities. We’d like local merchants to allow us to place a Hamfest flyer in their window or other prominent location. Then too, we want to ask them if they’d care to join our list of supporting merchants and business people by contributing a prize for one of the many Hamfest raffles. Just about everyone knows a merchant or two personally, so if you’re one of these people, how about making contact with a business person that you know on behalf of the 2017 Palm Springs Hamfest? Are you a member of an HOA? How about taking a few Hamfest flyers to your next meeting? If we all join in and work together, the success of the 2017 Palm Springs Hamfest will be a certainty.
