Presidents Message February 2021
The weekend of January 30-31 was Winter Field Day. As the county park at Lake Cahuilla wound up being closed, everyone worked from their home QTH.
Eight RATS submitted logs to Joe KJ8O to be processed and submitted. Thanks to Joe for stepping up and doing that. Several of us did pretty well, however it will take a few months for the results to be posted. All in all, it was a great weekend event, even though we were stuck indoors. See further down for a more detailed update from Mark, KD6SEC
This month’s Zoom meeting will be February 16th at 7 PM and the guest speaker will be from Yaesu. More on that later. The day before, you will receive an email from Gavin K6GAV our club secretary and internet guru with the secret RATS handshake to get into the meeting. If you do not, please email the board via the web site.
I mentioned last month about the yard sale at the home of Laura Brennen and the sale of the Ham gear of her late husband, Michael KA6PGN. Well, it’s coming up at the end of the month. Please go down there and haul away as much as you can (after paying for it, of course). Prices will be very reasonable and the amount of stuff left is still mind boggling. See below for more information and directions.
We still are looking into some events for later into the year. Definitely a big BBQ get together. Around that time, we would like to have a big RATS Swap, junk in the trunk event. That is still in the works.
That’s about it. See you on the bands. Stay healthy my friends so we can have an Eyeball QSO later in the year.
